Sepia team photos that were intended to be cut out and collected. Players are identified at the bottom. I don't have any illustration to go with this piece though. Can anyone help?
UPDATE (27-06-2024 23:52):  PaulH has provided this photo of a Sheffield United team cut from an issue of the Sheffield Weekly Telegraph. It's undated but Paul thinks it probably comes from 1930-31 season. Percy Thorpe joined the Blades for the 1930-31 and according to my records Billy Gillespie played his last game for Sheffield United that same season. I originally had these team photos dated to around 1935-36 but I've decided to generalize the date to the 1930's.

Hello again, Alan. I’ve just visited your website and seen your latest post regarding the Nikolai cards. I have the HTAFC one but didn’t realise that they were the publishers. Anyway, the name you are looking for is ANDY HOLDSWORTH who was a Town full-back that season. I’ve attached the front and back of the card. Keep up the good work!

133 cards (I think)

Each programme throughout the season had one of two different sheets of cards printed in them. One player on each sheet was the same, so it was possible to collect 7 different cards at each game. I have the details for one sheet for this fixture, but not the other. Can anyone help? The illustration is of a similar card from a different game.

Chris Lee has provided a scan of one of the cards that say 'Best Wished from Sport'. The card appears on Chris' superb Reading F.C. card site The Biscuitmen Reading Football Cardshttp://www.chrisdlee.com/index.htm
UPDATE (18-02-2017 08:54):  Paul Chauveau has been in touch to say that this card is hand-coloured. I am colour-blind and the photo looks black and white to me but Paul is adamant that the photo is hand-coloured - the goalkeepers jersey and the grass have a green tint and the hoops on the players' jerseys have a blue one.
The card seems to come from the later black and white series as Reading do not feature in any of the 1949-50 Team Picture Books. This could be the first known hand-coloured card from the second series.
