W.D. & H.O. Wills - Wills's Woodbines Tinplate Football Game

1920's
Wills's Woodbines Tinplate Football Game
W.D. & H.O. Wills
1 game

No cards or stickers this time, but I came across this item recently. The Wills's Woodbines Tinplate Football Game is probably from the 1920's. It measures approx 6" x 4" and the Imperial Tobacco Co. logo can be seen near the bottom right-hand corner flag. I've been unable to find out anything more.

Shueisha / Shōnen Book (Japan) - Shōnen Book Playing Cards

1968
Shōnen Book Playing Cards
Shueisha / Shōnen Book / 少年ブック
Japan
? cards

Rare cards from Japan, featuring  the earliest football cards I am aware of from the land of the rising sun. Shōnen Book is a children's comic published by Shueisha, with the first issue published in March 1958 and continued through to April 1969. In 1968 the comic gave away a series of playing cards. What little I know about them is included here, I've only seen spades and diamonds.

Kellogg's (USA) - Soccer Slam (Raisin Bran)

Soccer Slam
Kellogg's Raisin Bran
USA
1 soccer game

This Soccer Slam game could be found on special boxes of Kellogg's Raisin Bran cereal. I've shown the two football characters that were intended to be cut from the side panel of the package. Tony the Tiger's jersey indicates he's representing the MLS' West Conference. I suppose it's possible there's another version with him wearing the MLS East jersey.
