These cards are postcard size and have a lenticular design, giving the image a 3D effect. I'm grateful to Alan Probert for supplying all the images. Notice the similar backgrounds, where it seems a number of painting backdrops were used repeatedly, except for the George Best card.

      Individual cards sell from £1 to £5, depending on the player and there's a full set currently on eBay for £139.99.

  4. Hi, I have an empty football & encyclopaedia album 1972-73 but it only has room for 20 postcard size cards and 56 3x2 cards. Was The Sun's intention to make you buy 3 albums to fit all the postcard sized cards in, but obviously the other two albums you bought wouldn't be completely filled ? Many thanks for a great website !
