  1. Hello, the J. Campbell is mislabeled Sunderland. This is actually a different John Campbell, not the high scoring Sunderland player. He is wearing his Scottish kit and the date 1901 can be read on the crest of his jersey. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Campbell_(footballer,_born_1872) This John Campbell likely played for Celtic when the card was issued.

    1. Thank you for your help, it certainly looks like Celtic's John Campbell. I had the team name from David Thompson's book 'Half Time' and never had any reason to doubt it's accuracy. I'll add a scan of the card too.
