149+ metal discs
Andrew Hall has provided this image of a circular tin card of Bobby Charlton which was probably issued at the time of the 1970 World Cup tournament and might come from Argentina. Can anyone identify it? Please get in touch of you can provided any information no matter how small.
UPDATE (05-12-2020 11:21): Further research seems to indicate that these discs were produced in Uruguay. There are many similar ones featuring players from Uruguayan clubs but I've only found another two that seem to come from the same set as the Bobby Charlton one.
UPDATE (06-12-2020 15:11): I've tracked down a photo of the album cover and added a few more items to the checklist.
UPDATE (02-01-2021 16:04): Steve Owens is collecting this set that includes cards and metal discs. He doesn't have a complete checklist but he's provided a list of the discs he knows about, hoping that other collectors will provide some additional information. Steve tells me that these metal discs were only handed out through promotions and prize redemptions. Inside the back cover it described the prized you can redeem by completing sections of the album. When prizes were redeemed the collectors also received some of the metal discs.
UPDATE (09-01-2021 10:14): Jim Donnelly has provided an additional 21 names for this checklist but it's looking more and more likely that these are two or more different collections in this list.
