Football cards and stickers issued around the world, from the 1880's to the present day and even some that haven't been issued yet. I don't have any cards for sale, nor do I provide valuations, this blog is just a means of passing on information I have gathered over many decades of collecting. Alan Jenkins.

Barratt & Co. - BAR-375/BAR-72-14 Famous Footballers A14
1966
BAR-375/BAR-72-14 Famous Footballers A14
Barratt & Co.
50 cards + 2 variations
I wouldn't usually cover this set as it's included in Nigel Mercer's superb website Nigel's Webspace - Galleries of English Football Cards 1965/66 - 1979/80, but Roger Pashby has sent in a very interesting e-mail...
I have not seen you cover any of the later Barratt sets yet, so this might not be relevant, but I’m sure that you will be interested in it.
So… a query…
I was searching eBay a few days ago for a perfect A14 Barratt card of Jimmy Nicholson and couldn’t find any, so I narrowed the search to just Barratt and A14. My search threw up the attached series A14 card of Terry Hennessey, Nottingham Forest.
It’s clearly Hennessey in as much as the autograph is his. But is it really HIM?
I don’t know; I’m not a Forest fan. What caused my uncertainty was the attached card from the A15 series of Huddersfield Town’s Mike Hellawell.
It’s the same player, isn’t it? Surely it is?!!!
The Terry Hennessey that I remember from his Forest and Derby days was bald with a bit of a Bobby Charlton comb-over!! Any internet search using images also throw up pictures to back up my argument.
I reckon that the Forest A14 is an error card.
Your thoughts, please?
Roger, you are spot on. I've included an Anglo Confectionery card for those unfamilar with Terry Hennessey.

TOH-5-1-1 Footballers ~ Red Back ~ Series 1/2/3
Topps
330
An unusual checklist, though it's not complete. This is a listing for all the small cartoons that appear on the backs of the cards, usually illustrating various facts about the game. Card 326 relates to Scotland's defeat by Austria in 1931 and shows a kangaroo scoring a goal! For a complete checklist for the actual footballers in this collection, go to Nigel Mercer's superb website - http://cards.littleoak.com.au/index_topps.html. From time to time Topps has sold the original artwork from these designs through their eBay account.
