York City F.C. Top Trumps Card Game / Hot Trumps
Ginners Left Foot fanzine
20 Hot Trumps, 42 + 2

Andrew (aka Daley Mayall) has been in touch again regarding these two sets, completing the checklists for the 42 card set (with one additional card added after the original release) and the Hot Trumps cards that featured in the Ginners Left Foot fanzine.
No problem, glad to help. Just a bit more info for you...
Re. York City Top Trumps...
There were initially 42 cards produced, you are correct. Another card was added to the pack after a request from ex-player Chris Jones's daughter. Chris used to play for City in the 1970's and is now a co-commentator on BBC Radio York for City's matches. She wanted to buy a pack of York City Top Trumps for her dad for his birthday, until she realised he didn't feature! Suffice to say, I added his name to those featured in the pack, especially for her, and subsequent buyers.
Although I don't make these cards currently, I have not ruled out the prospect of producing a further set of York City Top Trumps featuring other players and bringing the pack number up to 50 or 60, this will depend on costs and if there's a demand for them. I may make this a project for 2014.
You now have the full information you need!! ;-)
Regards, Andrew (aka Daley Mayall), GLF (Ginners Left Foot)

1972-73
Clydepix
Clyde F.C.

Gordon Sydney sent an e-mail regarding these cards:

Here's the full set of ClydePix, the backs were blank.
The Clyde programme for the 9th September 1972 advises they are on their way, and the photographs have already been taken, then they are mentioned as being available in a small advert for the club shop. They were released in batches, because the programme for 11 November 1972 indicates another couple had been released, while the final mention I can find is on the 30 December 1972, when yet more were released. From memory I am sure they retailed for 5p at the time.

Ginners Left Foot fanzine / Hot Trumps - York City F.C. Top Trumps Card Game (2)

2006
York City F.C. Top Trumps Card Game
Ginners Left Foot fanzine / Hot Trumps
42

Following a previous post about these cards, I've had an e-mail from their creator - Daley Mayall:

I stumbled across a message you have posted on the internet and thought I would clear up your question - http://cartophilic-info-exch.hot-trumps.html.
'Hot Trumps' were produced within the pages of the York City fanzine I edited, Ginner's Left Foot, with my colleague Angus.
They were meant as a bit of fun, and featured not just players, but aspects of the club, such as the team coach, the water tank at the ground, and York City gin and vodka (don't ask!) which featured during the troubled John Batchelor era. Instructions were included to stick the page onto cardboard backing and play amongst your friends for a laugh. I think Hot Trumps featured in 4 or 5 issues overall.
As an aside, I actually did design and produce full-colour printed Top Trumps cards especially for the fans, and sold about 60 packs from memory.
I sold one or two sets on Ebay. They were very popular. They were all printed on my home inkjet printer and then laminated to protect them from damage whilst playing. I have attached a picture to give you an idea of what they looked like. I produced a particularly professional set of cards, even though I say so myself! ;-)
I hope this information is of use to you.
Regards, Andrew aka Daley Mayall, GLF (Ginners Left Foot)

I'm relisting the 31 out of the 42 that I know of below. I've also discovered some of the 'Hot Trumps' that were included in the fanzine. They are as follows:

Amalgamated Press / The Champion - Unknown Autograph booklet (2)

1937
Unknown Autograph booklet
Amalgamated Press / The Champion
1

Paul Briers (brentfordfcmemorabilia) has sent in scans of the reverse sides of the pages shown in the previous post relating to this item.

"International Footballers" is on page 29. The corresponding autos are on page 28. Now, on the back of the printed autographs - of McCulloch, Davis, Young, Dawson and Murphy - on page 28, there is another page of autos which you haven't listed on your website, should've sent this earlier! On page 27 it says "....st match tourists" with 7 printed autos on it, I'm assuming it could be "cricket test match tourists"?? I've attached a picture.
The back of page 29, is page 30, which has the autos as you've listed, Brown, Munro, Crooks, Jones & Catlin. Page attached too.
So somewhere is another booklet of at least 30 pages and probably as many as 52 pages as the other "Photographs and Autographs" booklet. I hope this may help?

The Test Match autographs are some of the New Zealand 1937 tourists.

I think it nails down the release as being some time in the second half of 1937.
