 Tony Park has been in touch to say that the Stan Pearson card doesn't seem to show the named player and he doesn't recognise who it is. Can anyone identify him?
UPDATE (30-04-2020 14:05):  Philip Heald seems to have identified the player as Tommy Pearson, unrelated, who played for Newcastle United either side of the Second World War. I've included a scan of his card in the F.M. Dobson series of Newcastle & Sunderland's 100 Greatest Footballers.

      I think you might be right, I've found a few photos of Tommy Pearson, same hair, same nose.
