Angelo Lekkas player football as a young boy but switched to Aussie Rules Football with Northern Knights U-18's. He joined Hawthorn Hawks in 1993 and stayed with them until retiring in August 2005. He was training with football team South Melbourne FC in early 2006. South Melbourne were members of the National Soccer League until it disbanded at the end of 2003-04 season. They then joined the Victoria Premier League. Lekkas never appeared for the first team but did play at least one game as an overage player for the South Melbourne U-21 side, coming on as a substitute for the final 25 minutes in a 4-0 defeat against Fawkner-Whittlesea. He doesn't feature on any football cards but he does appear on quite a few Aussie Rules cards. I've shown two examples here but I don't have a complete list of all of his cards. I know this won't interest many collectors but it clears another entry in my database.
