Sorry, deleted your comment by mistake. I'll update the Denis Law entry. Thanks Roger.
DeleteI just completed my set last Friday. I bought two boxes back in May 1988 ! From the two boxes ended up 15 short of a set. It's taken me all that time to finish the set. Anyway - now you tell me there are 3 variations for each sticker ? :-) And here's me thinking it was simply down to cheap ink used by the printer in certain batches, giving us different hues in every pack. I understood there was supposed to be a poster for these stickers, never seen one myself, anyone know if they exist ?
ReplyDeleteThe 'blue print on the back that looks faded' version of this card looks is a poor imitation of the cream version .. I thought it might be fake.. but it is good to know they are pulled from the packet like that
ReplyDeleteHi,
DeleteThanks for your comment. I added this checklist in the first few months of starting my blog and didn't include as many illustrations as I could have. I've added examples of the three different backs plus scans of the two versions of the Stanley Matthews card.
Is anyone looking for any of these cards to make a full set, I found a box in my attic with about 4000 of these, 52 players and approximately 100 of each player,
ReplyDeleteOr does anyone know were i can sell these
ReplyDeleteHi. If you get up a lot of the 52 players singularly & put them up on ‘buy it now’ on eBay & sell for, let’s say £20/£25 each lot….. if they go, you could do that in theory do that 100 times & you would have a pretty penny ?
