These 10" x 7½" printer's proof sheets each depicting ten cards from the 1888 N88 "The Terrors of America" that were issued by W. Duke Son & Co. This widely collected set features children playing games and getting into assorted mischief - doing what kids do - along with the attitude one expects from unmanaged youngsters. What makes these so appealing is the differences one finds. Here, the intended cards are numbered, unlike the N88 cards. The title on the sheets is "Young America" and the sheets are numbered "Set 1" through to "Set 5." The proof sheets displays 12 colours with precision registration. The first sheet includes the Foot Ball card at number 3.
