In 1974, he was playing for Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra and captained the Dominican Republic at the 1974 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo. By 1978 he was playing baseball in the United States, where he played for New York Yankees (1978–1979), Toronto Blue Jays (1980–1986), Atlanta Braves (1988) and Montreal Expos (1989).

Hi Hendrik, I hope you are well. It is quite cold over here. A similar card to this is an American Football card from the set "1996 Score WLAF", card #5 of Manfred Burgsmüller. The former Bundesliga attacker became a placekicker for the Rhein Fire after retiring from footy. I just thought this is a cool tidbit of sporting history. Best, Henry
ReplyDeleteHi Henry,
DeleteI love quirky cards like this. He also appears in another card in that series. I'll add both of them and the checklist in the next day or two.
Cheers,
Alan
