A comment was left on the original checklist that mentioned an advert that dates this collection to 1950 rather than 1953. The advert is shown here, along with the front cover of the magazine that it features in, which means that a collection often referred to as being issued by the Sunday Empire News (the backs of the 8-card booklets mention the newspaper - Mickey Durlings impressions of sporting personalities appear weekly in the "Sunday Empire News") seems to show that the cards were issued by Sportscards Publishing Co. It may be a venture that Mickey Durling undertook himself or in collaboration with this company.
