Parkinson & Roy - D. Wilson (Leeds City) (Postcard)

1906

1 postcard

David Wilson joined Leeds City from Hull City in December 1905, having previously played for Raith Rovers, Dundee and Heart of Midlothian. While playing against Burnley on 27 October, 1906 he left the pitch in the second half after suffering chest pains. He returned to the pitch when a couple of his teammates got injured, but he collapsed and was carried to the dressing room, where he died. This postcard was probably originally released as part of a collection featuring Leeds City players, but this version has a black border added as a mark of respect following he tragic incident that took his life.
