More patches to look forward to in 2032, though I would expect Topps to have hoped for a more exciting fixture! To commemorate the 1,000th World Cup match every player in the Japan v Tunisia fixture on 20 June, 2026, wore a special Match 1000 patch on their left sleeve. Here is Japan's Ayase Ueda wearing his patch and a couple of images of Tunisia'a Elias Saad wearing his. The match officials also wore Match 1000 patches, though theirs were larger. I wonder if FIFA has any further surprises in the coming weeks.
