Panini - FIFA World Cup 2026 (23) - World Champions

FIFA World Cup 2026
Panini
980 stickers

The new collection includes a section called World Champions, featuring current players from countries who have won the FIFA World Cup previously. Elias Patrick Jr. has provided examples of seven of them. The one team missing is Italy, who have not yet qualified for the 2026 tournament - they meet Bosnia & Herzegovina on Tuesday to decide which of the two countries get to the finals. Elias has his own website that can be seen here - Mundo das Figurinhas.
I have started a checklist but there's not much information there yet, but it will eventually include the complete checklist and can be seen here - Panini - FIFA World Cup 2026 (09) - Checklist.

  1. Not a player from Uruguay in that section?

    1. That's my fault, I mis-placed the Uruguay sticker. It has now been added.

  2. A missed opportunity again from Panini. Surely a retro sticker from a past World Cup album would have been appreciated, ie Beckenbauer from 74 collection, Zidane 98. Uruguay, use a player profile from 1950. What the world needs...a Jordan Henderson sticker...save me please.

    1. I've no idea why they've created these stickers to represent World Cup winners. I think this is going to be one of the worst collections they've ever put out. I even dislike the player stickers.

  3. You can get a set on pre-order for less than £200 already.

The last two teams to qualify were DRC and Iraq. I think that the citizens of both of those countries are on the list that Trump banned from entering the US. The money for security for the fan zones in the US cities hosting matches hasn't been released so they probably won't happen. Iran will not be there so how is their group going to work and getting in and out of stadiums is going to be a complete nightmare.

Oh......and it will cost you over £100 to park your car and about the same if you want to buy any food in the stadiums.

It's going to be a great WC - for FIFA.

  4. I read somewhere this week that you can buy 5 tickets for the Final of the 2028 Euros for the price of parking a car in any car park of a US stadium after the first round.

    1. Italy hadn't qualified when Panini released those images. Now that they definitely won't be there it will be interesting to see what Panini do.
