This collection doesn't have an official title and is only referred to as 'Footballers.' All four of the players listed were members of the Hull F.C. rugby union team when they, along with a group of Northern sides, broke away from the Rugby Football Union to form the Northern Union, now known as Rugby League.

UPDATE (24-06-2025 11:30):  The new journal of The Cartophilic Society of Great Britain, no. 371 dated May/June 2025 provides a list of seven known cards and Tim Thornham, the Research Chairman at CSGB has provided enough research to suggest that these cards were issued in the first half of 1898.
