The number of the card on the left is larger than the one on the right and is similar in size to the card numbers used in the first series (numbers 1 to 57). I am just guessing (does anyone know the answer?) but I think this anomaly only affects cards number 59 to 99 in the second series. The designers probably realised the problem when they reached the three-digit numbers and at some point amended the numbers on cards 59 to 99. I haven't been able to find any similar discrepancies with the 58 cards in the first series and I doubt there would be any differences in cards numbered 100 and upwards.
