Robert Byrne was a baseball player with St. Louis Cardinals (1907–1909), Pittsburgh Pirates (1909–1913), Philadelphia Phillies (1913–1917) and Chicago White Sox (1917).

Wikipedia states Byrne played soccer in the St. Louis Soccer Football League (1907-1915) during the off-season. When he signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates, team president Barney Dreyfuss ordered him to give it up.

I don't know much about this series, the backs of some of the cards state that there are 400 cards to collect. The set was also issued across a wide range of cigarette brands. I have included examples of all the different backs, some are Robert Byrne cards but most are other baseball players.
