Football cards and stickers issued around the world, from the 1880's to the present day and even some that haven't been issued yet. I don't have any cards for sale, nor do I provide valuations, this blog is just a means of passing on information I have gathered over many decades of collecting. Alan Jenkins.
This photograph, taken by my father, was taken in Sir Stanley's garden. this has been edited because I have the original and there were two deckchairs leaning on the fence behind him and have been 'adjusted' to omit them from this published version. I also have some cine footage of my father having a kickabout with Sir Stanley when the photoshoot was over.
ReplyDeleteThat's an amazing story, thank you for sharing it.
DeleteKind regards,
Alan
Thank you for your comments. I have 14 other photographs that were taken from the same photoshoot which do not appear to have been used. My father was a professional photographer and I believe that he was commissioned by Frido to take the pictures. They have a handwritten date on the back of 1958.
ReplyDeleteThey make a unique record of the occasion - fascinating.
DeleteHi I have one of these photos was it a mass produced photo that was signed? I was always told by my grandad that he was given it from Stanley Matthews himself as theu bith played together
ReplyDeleteI presume Frido gave Stanley Matthews a quantity of photos for him to use.
