Rhyl F.C. (Clwb PĂȘl Droed y Rhyl) was founded in 1878 and their history includes a number of name changes, sometimes known as Rhyl Athletic or Rhyl United. They've won the Welsh Premier League twice, the Welsh Cup four times and the Welsh Amateur Cup once. They have also taken part in the UEFA Intertoto Cup, UEFA Cup (three times) and UEFA Champions League twice, most recently in 2009-10, losing to FC Partizan Belgrade. In 1956-57 they reached the 4th Round of the F.A. Cup, losing to Bristol City.
The club was wound up on 21 April 2020, as far as I am aware they are the first football club in the United Kingdom to go out of business because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
