Graham Bruton has provided photos of his Manchester United flag that comes in a packet that announces a 'New Series', though the flags seem to be similar to the original series, but with four extra ones and this packet lists all the available flags on the backs.

Alan, I notice that the Manchester United flag shown here is identical to the one shown under the Somportex listing you have. I have a Birmingham one which was sold to me as being Somportex. I note that the design is basically identical to my copy of the A Prescott football pennant for Birmingham. Same crest, same font but perhaps slightly different font size due to the size of the objects. I have emailed images to you of both Birmingham items. Regarding the flags it seems that you can't really say they belong to one issuer or the other unless you happen to have the original packaging. Or were they in some way connected companies?

DeleteI've noticed that too. I'm not sure but I think Somportex produced them, they produced a wide range of football souvenirs in the 1960's and 70's. This version was sold by A. Prescott & Co., it's possible other companies might also have sold them.
