As part of a marketing campaign BP issued this sticker in Germany. BP sponsored the Hamburg club at this time. The following year they issued a Franz Beckenbauer sticker which has already appeared on this blog.

A friend of mine is working me really hard these past couple of days. He's sent in scans of this Pele card and wondered if I had a checklist for this collection. This list is not complete. Some players are unconfirmed and may be incorrect. The numbers in question are: 20, 31, 32, 46, 50, 71, 86, 103, 149, 158, 173, 176, 190, 213, 240, 243 and 253.
The image of Pele might seem familiar, as it's similar to the one used in the F.K.S. collection and other sticker collections issued for the 1970 World Cup tournament, but these are actual cards, not stickers. As usual, none of the illustrations are to scale.
UPDATE:  I thought I would explain how I got the unconfirmed names in this checklist. When I was asked for this information yesterday, I didn't have a complete checklist, but I did some research and called in a few favours and finally ended up less then 20 names from a complete checklist. I took all the Mexicaorama data and sorted it into numbers, names and teams and then pasted this into a table in my database. As the images are similar to those in the F.K.S. collection I created another table with all the information from the F.K.S. set. I then linked the two tables and created a query to pair all the players. All the Mexicorama players appeared in the F.K.S. list and the only names I was left with from the F.K.S. table fitted into the missing numbers from the Mexicorama set. I decided to add them to the checklist but label them as unconfirmed.

UPDATE (04-03-2021 20:52):  The back of the album includes illustrations of a range or prizes that can be won by redeeming points collected from the backs of the stickers. Marc Luesebrink has provided photos of the Franz Beckenbauer sticker that was worth 2 points. What I don't know at the moment is whether it's a variation for the Beckenbauer sticker or whether all Beckenbauer stickers included the 2 point voucher.
