Ogden's Cigarettes - Football Club Colours (11)

1906
Football Club Colours
Ogden's Cigarettes
51 cards

I've had another batch of photos from Peter in Poland. This is the second batch of 10 cards in the collection, though Peter has no interest in the rugby players so these are just the footaballers - nos 11. to 24. Peter's additional research is highlighted in red bold text.

  1. Re card #24 it should read George Needham who was at Forest from April 1905 to April 1915. David Needham came a little later (December 1977 to May 1982).

  3. The Everton player depicted bears little resemblance to Jack Taylor who appeared 2 years later in Ogden's Famous Footballers set. I believe the player in the Football Club Colours set is actually Tom Booth who captained the Toffees from 1901 to 1904. He can be seen in a number of team photos from this era.

    Kind Regards,

    Neil

    1. Hi Neil,

Thank you for getting in touch. I must admit I was never really comfortable with Jack Taylor being the player in the Football Club Colours set. I think you've found the right one in Tom Booth. I'll amend that first iamge to include a photo of him.

Thank you very much for your help,

      Alan
