I was originally led to believe that these transfers consisted of a set of 16. Brian McEwan has sent in a scan of the John Blackley transfer and informed me that Derek Parlane of Rangers was also issued. So that makes 18 and I suppose there may be more.
22 players were selected for the 1974 World Cup. The following players went to Germany but are not yet know to be featured in this collection: Jimmy Johnstone, Thomson Allan, Jim Stewart, Martin Buchan, Peter Cormack, Willie Donachie, Gordon McQueen and Erich Schaedler. Furthermore, the following players are included in the set of transfers but did not travel to Germany: George Connelly, Ally Hunter, Derek Parlane and Jimmy Smith.
