Albert Wilkes was a prolific issuer of postcards and postcard-sized cards. The back has been hand-stamped '29 APR 1932'.
Leslie Compton was born Woodford, Essex and played football for Middlesex Schools before joining Arsenal as an amateur in 1930, where he spent his entire career lasting 22 years. He made his debut on 24 April 1932 away at Aston Villa in a 1–1 draw just after turning professional.
