Rency plays a pivotal role in the fields of Street art, Pop and Abstraction. Often created in public locations, street art is in essence related to graffiti art, although it employs a broader range of mediums and unconventional formats. Artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring are considered to be pioneers of street art, and considerably influenced the younger generation of street artists, including Banksy and JR. The freedom and openness of street art invites artists to create without barriers, and often provide a critique of modern issues.
Much of his work is produced on U.S. $2 bills, of which there are many examples on auction sites like eBay. At least one of these also features Lionel Messi.
