Columbia Pictures (Mexico) - ¡Gol! La Copa del Mundo (Lobby Card)

A large lobby card (11"x14") promoting the Spanish language version of the official 1966 World Cup film - 'GOAL! The World Cup'. Pelé only played in two games - he was badly fouled by a Bulgarian player in the first game, which meant he missed the game against Hungary, which Brazil lost. In Brazil's third game, Portugal defender João Morais perpetrate a double foul on Pelé, but was not sent off by English referee George McCabe; a decision retrospectively viewed as being among the worst refereeing errors in World Cup history. Brazil lost and went out of the tournament. All the England players were awarded OBE's or MBE's, I think they should have also given one to João Morais, otherwise Pelé might have ended up with four World Cup winners medals!
