Fore Publications - Football Stars: Past-Present-Future - Book 3

1948
Football Stars: Past-Present-Future
Fore Publications
31 footballers

These were removed from three booklets called Football Stars: Past-Present-Future. Not cards, but nice additions to anyone's collection. For some I have the names of the players clubs, for others I don't. I'm also unaware of which issues the pages come from. Any help with this information would be much appreciated.

UPDATE (14-12-2024 17:43):  Following a comment from Jim listing all the photos in these three booklets (please be aware Book 1 featured Cricket Stars, I originally though that it was a football publication). I have decided to do a bit of housekeeping. I am re-naming this post as the checklist for Book 3. There are two other posts on my blog relating to this collection and they have been updated to checklist Book 2 and Book 4.

Boys' Magazine - 1922 F.A. Cup Final Teams

1921-22
BOY-490 1922 F.A. Cup Final Teams - Grand Art Plates
Boys' Magazine
2 art plates

These two inserts are a collection on their own. No other team photos were given away in the weeks prior to these. They were issued in between a run of boxers and cricketers. Roger Pashby kindly allowed me the use of his Huddersfield Town team photo. Check out his superb website for many other Huddersfield Town rarities.
The Cartophilic Society of GB has listed them incorrectly in their updated indicies. They also lumped many of the different team photos under one reference number for some strange reason. I completed researching all the gifts given away with Boy's Magazine a few years back, and I'll cover all the various football issues over the coming weeks. When that project is completed I'll include a summary of every gift, including all the non-football items. It will be good to get this information out into the public domain at last.

Preston North End F.C.   -  issue no. 10,  dated 29 April, 1922
Rawlings, Doolan, Elliott, Hamilton, Roberts, Jeffries, Woodhouse, Quinn, Waddell, Marshall, Mercer.
Huddersfield Town F.C.   -  issue no. 11,  dated 6 May, 1922
H. Chapman (Sec.), J.W. Wood, C. McKay, C. Slade, A. Mutch, T. Wilson (Captain), W. Watson, S.J. Wadsworth, G.E. Richardson, F.D. Mann, G. Brown, E. Islip, W.G. Johnstone, C. Stephenson, W.H. Smith.

City Bakeries - Football Club Shields (14)

City Bakeries
Football Clubs (Paper Shields)
Unknown number

The card on the left has been shown previously - http://cartophilic-info-exch.blogspot.co.uk/2013/11/city-bakeries-football-club-shields-9.html, but the card on the right is a new discovery. It's the same scene, the colour is duller than the previous one and the typeface is the more usual block lettering.
