64 cards

A close inspection of the above card shows an error in the biography.

The first line reads "Arsenal and Dales inside left."
...which should read "Arsenal and Wales inside left."

I would like to know if there is a corrected version issued. Can anyone help?
UPDATE (24-04-2021 00:08):  Images of a card with the corrected text added.

25 cards (1 football)

Something different today. A footballer who received the Victoria Cross for bravery and who was attached to a professional football club. Lance-Corporal William Angus was with Glasgow Celtic.

45.  Lance-Corporal Wm. Angus, V.C. (8th Batt. Highland Light Infantry, T.F.)

The following is a quote from The Scotsman newspaper regarding Wm. Angus:

The Scotsman - Friday, 23rd July 1915, page 4
CELTIC FOOTBALL CLUB' S CONGRATULATIONS.

Corporal Angus was for two seasons connected with the Celtic Football Club, and Mr William Maley, the Secretary, has addressed a letter of congratulation to Cpl. Angus's father. He says:— " I beg to offer you, on behalf of my club, and personally, our sincerest congratulations on the brilliant achievement of your son, Willie. That he may come back to you all safe and sound is now our most earnest prayer, and we trust that you may all be long spared to each other to happy and prosperous days. I can safely say that no club ever had a more willing or conscientious player, and one who always showed by his cleanness that fine spirit which has in his army life enabled him to do the deed which has earned him a world's acclamation, and, I am sure brought great pride to the folks at home who have followed his career anxiously."

Footballers
Topical Times
Unknown number in set

Although all the card sets issued by the Topical Times magazine throughout most of the 1920s and 1930s are well documented, this is the only card so far known to have been issued in 1919, around the time when Topical Times was first published.

Unfortunately, the above illustration is just a poor photocopy.
Anyone know of any others?

These wrappers were intended to be collected and traded in for prizes. Each can be found with and without the club name below the footballers name. Webcosa supplied Football Bingo cards and the idea was to collect wrappers from all 25 clubs on the card to qualify for a prize, but many of the wrappers didn't include the name of the club, making those wrappers ineligible for the competition. There were lots of different Football Bingo cards and they are also very collectible, which I'll cover later.
These are not to be confused with another series of Football caricatures issued by Webcosa which come with a yellow background.

The list below is split into three sections:
1.  List of players and thie clubs (listed in club order)

Match magazine
26/12/98 Poster

For their Christmas issue Match magazine issued a large poster with photos of players from across the full spectrum of Premiership and Football League clubs, plus many Scottish League clubs too.

The three photos here (click on them to see larger versions) include all the players I don't recognise, though since the photos were compiled some players have been identified. It's safe to assume that these players were with these clubs during the first half of the 1998-99 season.

Any help with identification would be great.

Football Post - Popular Footballers

1904
Football Post
FOO-210 / Our Series of Popular Footballers
Postcard size

I don't know anything about these postcard size items. The only 2 subjects I know of are Dundee F.C. players. I presume that the series also includes players from other Scottish clubs.

I haven't discovered anything regarding the Football Post either. There was a newspaper by this name that started in 1903 and was published in Nottingham, but as these players are from Dundee that seems an unlikely source.

Fred MacDiarmid (Dundee F.C.)
Alan Bell (Dundee F.C.)

Blackpool F.C. - 1935-36 Programme inserts

1935-36
Blackpool F.C.
Programme inserts
Unknown number in set

Apparently these photos/prints were given away with the Blackpool F.C. Official Programme in 1935-36 season.
A first glance at the jersey might make you think that it couldn't be a Blackpool player, but the club played in dark and light blue stripes between 1933 and 1938. Check out the Historical Football Kits website (http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Blackpool/Blackpool.htm).
I only know of 2 of these inserts so far. Any further information would be much appreciated. I'd also be interested in finding out which players were giveaway with which programme.

These cards are very rare. The card shown here was recently for sale on eBay with a starting price of £95. I was hoping to try and date the card by checking when Burnley played in these colours, but when I checked the Historcial Football Kits website it was nowhere to be seen.
Here's a list of known cards, it features rugby clubs as well as football clubs. If you know of any others please get in touch.
UPDATE (03-12-2017 13:11):  Wigan Boro' added to the list, thanks to Mark Hughesdon. The cards are unnumbered and are numbered here for reference purposes only.
