Imagine a postcard series where Liverpool FC never lose. 38 different designs, each one featuring win, after win, after win. This almost impossible feat has now become a reality with "The Perfect Season" Postcard Series.
This new set, featuring 38 winning postcards will be based on historic wins from the clubs history. The 4-3 win against Newcastle, Gary Mac's winning free kick at Goodison Park, the 9-0 defeat of Crystal Palace and the 7-0 demolition of Spurs to name just a few. And there's more...
Rather than creating a random set of postcards featuring winning games, "The Perfect Season" will follow the fixture list of the Reds 2015/16 campaign, starting with an away fixture against Stoke City. But instead of basing the design of the first postcard on that result, the design will be released in the build up to the match and will feature the Reds 5-1 victory over Stoke from 1982. Bob Paisley led the team to an emphatic victory with goals from McDermott, Dalglish, Souness, Lee and Whelan as Liverpool FC brushed aside the Potters at the Victoria Ground.
The second match this season will see LFC entertain Bournemouth at Anfield, so the next postcard in the series will feature a victory from the past based on one of the historic clashes between the two sides. This pattern will continue throughout the season, with a new design released to coincide with every league fixture, which will form a 38 postcard set that will include home and away results from the club's past against all 19 of this seasons Premier League opposition.
Over the length of the project, postcards will feature games from the 60's, 70's, 80's. 90's, 00's and 10's giving supporters of all ages the chance to reminisce about old games or even learn for the first time about some of the club's past glories. You will also have the opportunity to have your say, as each week I will be asking for help from the online community in choosing the next match to be featured.
