B.E.A. / S.A.B.A., Milano
Italy
242 cards
Every card is numbered but the album doesn't take into account card numbers. I haven't recorded any of the card numbers as they are quite difficult to read, so I've compiled the list from a completed album. I've listed the players in each team alphabetically rather than as they appear in the album, where they are laid out in team positions 1 through to 11. I've also listed the teams in the order they appear in the album.
Everyone knows this collection as being issued by a company called B.E.A. but I couldn't find any reference to such a company on the cards or in the album. The only name I could find is a firm named S.A.B.A., Milano so I've included that alongside the B.E.A. name.
I am a novice when it comes to these old Italian collections so please get in touch if I need to amended or add anything.

? cards
I know very little about these cards, I don't know how many were issued or what the series title is and I am only able to confirm a few cards though I've listed the whole Uruguay squad for the 1930 World Cup tournament as well as the rest of the competing teams. Chocolate Franco also issued a series of much larger cards showing scenes from games at the tournament and I hope to feature some of those as soon as possible.

Graham Bruton informed me today that Tony Coakley, the last surviving director of A&BC Chewing Gum, passed away on 9 April, 2020, in a nursing home at the age of 93.
In 1949 Simon Anysz, Rudy Braun along with brothers Douglas and Tony Coakley decided to form a company to produce and sell chewing gum and A&BC Chewing Gum Ltd. was founded. The company lasted 25 years and employed 350 people. For a fuller history of the company check out Nigel Mercer's website for A&BC Chewing Gum Ltd. - a brief history.
