I have just been sent a photo of a few small plastic footballers and asked if I know anything about them. They come from a set of 29 plastic footballers (1/32 scale) produced by Airfix and are ready for painting. There are 11 different poses, including referee and linesman. The guys at Got, Not Got have produced a few examples of what they look like when painted, you can see more here - Airfix Footballers.

Airfix (Hornby) should re-release these, I think they would be incredibly popular.
ReplyDeleteI used to love Airfix kits, I had loads of fighter planes hanging from my ceiling and battleships on my bookshelves.

ReplyDeletei was reminising with my mates about when we were kids and had we had biscuit tins full of painted teams. We wouls create our own teams and leagues and play at home. i had some green carpet and paionted a pithch onto it, my mate had a subuteo pitch and floodlights and of course we all had subuteo goals as standard. we would hold competitions and play each other in leagues and knockout tournaments. i think i had 20+ teams and there were 6 of us all with the same amount or thereabouts. ahhhh what great great days they were. we are all in our mid to late 50's now but we would still buy them again and re create our league days. Airfix BRING THEM BACK PLEASE!!! :)
