These are listed in the Cartophilic Society's Trade Card Index but I don't think I've ever seen any of these cards. I presume they would have included one or two footballers. Can anyone help?
UPDATE (08-10-2024 18:27): This cutting comes from the issue dated 25 September, 1956, with information about how to acquire the album.
There were in fact 49 subjects (Bert Trautmann was add) presumably due to his performance in the 1956 Cup Final but there is no space for him in the album. The footballers are Bert Trautmann, Duncan Edwards, Johnny Haynes and Bob Hardisty the Bishop Auckland armature. Issued in pairs except for the final one, Leonard Cheshire. Trautman was joined with with Stirling Moss on 8th Fen 1957

DeleteThank you for leaving your comment. I've got a second later post relating to this collection with, what I thought was, a complete checklist. I think I might have located the issue with Bert Trautmann. I'll have to watch out for the postman over the next few days.

I forgot to mention that I have now complete my full set but still no album. The album is probably so difficult to get because it was only available to Eagle club members.
DeleteCongratulations Evan, good luck in trying to track down an album. As you say, it had limited distribution. It would have been much more readily available if it had been given away with the comic.
