In Memoriam Postcard

Roger Pashby has sent in a scan of this postcard. It can also be seen in the Virtual Museum section of his website. He dates it around 1920 but the postcard is vague, not referencing any particular fixture.

In Memoriam Postcard - Bury v Derby County, 1923-24

Baz Warburton has been in touch. Here's a scan of the only Shakers' one I have.  Very drab, all black I'm afraid so not great to scan, but might still be of interest. I reckon it could be from our 2-1 first round defeat to Derby in 1923/24.  Small comfort for the 6-0 win in the1902/03 final!

In Memoriam cards were a regular feature of postcard issuers throughout the first quarter of the 20th century, usually celebrating the defeat of a famous football team in a cup-tie. I hope to show more of these from time to time, as illustrations become available.
