1935-36
Football Français
Chocolat Lacroix, Tourcoring
France
200 cards
Serge Plumecocq has provided this list and the photos. He has been able to date the collection to 1935-36 because the ex-Sunderland player George Gibson spent just that one season at his favourite club, U.S. Valenciennes Anzin, before moving to Northern Ireland with Distillery.
UPDATE (30-09-2025 22:49): A second back version added (CHOCOLAT LACROIX) and Nills has informed me about a blank-backed version too.

Looks like this set was issue with various backs.
ReplyDeleteI have included the vertical back as you have shown on your site as well as blank back versions. There are several players that only played for the specific team during the year of 1935-1936 which goes along with your information.
One player (Charles Hummel) is shown on both versions and has same card number on both.
Hi Nills,
DeleteI've added another back version that I found and I've also added a blank-backed version too. Thanks for your help.
Cheers,
Alan
