Vache Grosjean (France) - Tom et Jerry Grands Champions de Football

12 stickers

UPDATE (28-06-2023 09:21):  I was promoted to do more research following a comment by John Levitt and it seems that the stickers relate to World Cup Finals, with the flag of the host nations on the front and the result of the finals on the reverse. During my search I discovered that the backs of the stickers can be found printed in blue or black.

  1. Alan, Looking at the images I see that top left shows the Brazilian flag, top right shows the UK (should be the English flag) flag and bottom left shows the Swedish flag and the card back bottom right has the word "Dribble" plus a question asking "who won the World Cup in 1950" with the answer shown upside as Uruguay. As a point of interest the first World Cup after WWI (1930) was won by Uruguay and the first world cup after WWII (1950) was also won by Uruguay. Do you have details of any other cards because I suspect they all depict a winner of a previous World Cup.

    1. Hi John,

Prompted by your comment, I've done some more research and you are correct. They all relate to World Cup Finals, with the flag of the host nations on the front and the result of the finals on the reverse.

      Cheers,
      Alan

  2. Alan. After further research on eBay I have found 3 other stickers which show flags from Argentina, France and Chile which makes me think that the 12 stickers feature countries that hosted the World Cup finals rather than the winners which would explain the UK flag rather than the English.
    regards
    John

    1. Hi John,

We've obviously been researching the same thing at the same time and came to the same conclusion. Thanks again for your help. I didn't look too closely when I first found them, the stickers aren't numbered so I was happy to include a basic list but I should have checked to find out what the flags indicated.

      Cheers,
      Alan
