Abadie Zigarettenpapier
Austria
3,866 cards
Abadie Zigarettenpapier produced cigarette papers and in 1928 started including small images (46mm x 38mm) of coats of arms and flags of countries, cities and regions. Two albums were produced to hold all the cards. The last 8 cards ever issued featured the emblems of Austrian football clubs. For most of the series the backs of the card were blank, but at some point Abadie started adding descriptive text to the backs and that is the case with the football cards. The backs were printed upside-down, as shown above. The cards needed to be glued into the album, ideally along the top part of the card, where the word 'kleberaum' is printed. The card could then be flipped up to read what is printed on the reverse.
