Topps has teamed up with Premier League players and Daily Star national newspaper to sample thousands of signed football stickers to readers up and down the country.
To celebrate the launch of Topps’ latest launch, the Merlin Premier League 2015 Sticker Collection, the collectibles company has agreed a six-day promotion with the newspaper in a bid to get as many readers as possible ‘stuck in’ to the latest edition of the hugely popular annual football collectible.
Activity kicks off on Saturday 24 January, when sheets of six Premier League Stickers will be given away with every copy of the day’s Daily Star, targeting over 420,000 people.
To make the sampling activity even more exciting for readers, Premier League stars Bobby Zamora, Leighton Baines, Steve Sidwell and Michael Dawson have each personally autographed 1,000 of their Merlin stickers, which will be randomly inserted into lucky copies for fans to find on the day.
Following this, from Monday 26 January to Friday 30 January, coupons will run in the Daily Star each day, enabling readers to redeem additional sheets of six stickers in Morrisons, One Stop and MRG stores nationwide.
The marketing activity has the potential to reach over 2.1million people and is one of the biggest promotional bursts for the collection, which profiles the biggest stars of the current Barclays Premier League season and features the very latest player photographs, home and away kits and club badges.
