1 card
In 1900 Ireland's Saturday Night newspaper conducted a poll of it's readers to discover the most popular Irish footballer. There were nearly 40,000 votes cast with poll ending on Wednesday, 5 December and the result announced on Saturday, 8 December. Votes were cast for hundreds of players and the full list appeared on the front page but Sam Torrans was the runaway winner, with more than double the votes of his nearest rival for the title. This special complimentary card was included with the newspaper.
Joe Burniston (Distillery)
Sam Torrans (Linfield)
