The postcard illustrated is that of Leon George Ferdinand Skiller, who joined Leyton FC in May 1905 and moved to Aston Villa in September 1908 before being transferred to Swindon Town in July 1909, where he stayed until 1923. During the First World War he gusted for Southampton at least once. The original Leyton F.C. was founded in 1868.
