This is an unusual card. As far as I can ascertain it's the earliest Barratt card to feature an actual footballer. I have never seen any football cards issued by Barratt using a similar design. Perhaps this card is part of a collection that includes a wide series of subjects, with Shand being the only footballer.

Hector Shand joined Millwall Athletic from Middlesbrough in May 1907 and stayed at the club for two seasons. This likely dates this card as probably being issued some time between 1907 and 1909, so I've used the later date.
