UPDATE (05-09-2022 05:54)

I have always meant to keep this posted updated but I've lost count of the number of times I've tried to do that. It bothers me greatly that I am unable to keep to date with the e-mail's I receive. The number of outstanding ones is over 400, spread over the last 18 months. Although I don't like to admit it, it's obvious that I'll probably never answer the vast majority of them.

My wife and I are in poor health and that's not going to change. I think it's safe to say that where we're at at the moment is as good as it's going to get. My wife is my priority, her happiness and well-being is more important to me than anything. I still enjoy adding new checklists and other items to my blog, even though I have less time on my hands these days, it's still something I enjoy doing.

I must apologise to everyone who has written to me and not received a reply. I would like to say that that situation will change but I know that's very unlikely. I have tried setting up an automated reply apologising for not being responsive.

If you have new information, updates or amendments relating to posts on my blog please use the 'Comments' which can be accessed at the bottom of every one of them. I do keep on top of these as often as I can and 99% are actioned within 24 hours and I have n outstanding comments at this moment in time.

Take care, stay safe, and apologies to everyone whom I have disappointed,

Alan

    1. Hi John,

Good to hear from you. We're both getting on in years and we're in poor health these days, but that's the way things go sometimes, but thanks for your kind thoughts.

I think 1-1 was a fair result last weekend. A month ago it looked like we were in a relegation scrap but some good results since then has pulled us away from the bottom four. At least we're both looking up the league table rather than backwards and hopefully we'll both finish as high as possible this season.

      Take care,

      Alan

  24. Hi Alan,
I have to say your webste is fantastic. Although football is not my thing but comics from Amalgamated Press are.
I was always fustrated that free gifts from comics or pre-war era are pretty much lost information. So a web site like yours is amazing.
I started my own website to create a database of free gifts for collectors. Im trying to show the free gift & the comic that goes with it. So your information is helping me research.
I still have to find that book, 'Free Gifts in the Big 5'. I just cant find a copy,
anyways I created a facebook group, 'Vintage British Comics & Annuals' and I hope to work on the website much like your self.
I hope you & your wife are doing well. Your work is fantastic.
    john.

I've had to tear myself away from your Facebook page, but I've bookmarked it and I'll go back to it tomorrow. There are so many amazing photos.
      Keep up the good work.

  25. Hello Alan,

I recently found your website and it is fantastic! I collect only vintage and oddball basketball cards, and even though you focus on football there is also a wealth of information on obscure basketball cards mixed throughout your site. Thank you for all your hard work and generosity in sharing the information you've obtained. I wish you all the best and much health going forward!
