Confiserie Fürth / Chocolat Fürth / Star magazine (Czechoslovakia) - Sport Rekord CSR

1934
Sport Rekord CSR
Confiserie Fürth / Chocolat Fürth
Star magazine
Czechosovakia
100 cards (45 football)

Pip has provided a complete checklist for this collection. The words at the top of the cards - STAR Časopis pro každého sportovce - translates as 'STAR magazine for every athlete' but the backs of the cards and album make reference to Chocolat Fürth and Confiserie Fürth. I presume the magazine provided the images and the cards were given away with confectionery. The cards include inscriptions on the front in two or three languages - Czech, Slovak and German. Finally, the Švehlúv Pohár trophy can be regarded as the forerunner of the European Championship, Italy were the first champions of the Central European International Cup, winning the 1927-1930 tournament, with Czechoslovakia and Austria as runners-up.
