Hi Alan I hope all is well with you! I am a Palestinian National Soccer Team Memorabilia collector - I try to collect pins and jerseys related to our national soccer team. In my hunt I came across this. I have never seen this before and had no idea Panini even made a Palestinian soccer sticker or card collection.
Can you please provide me more information on where you got this? how you got this? and what it exactly is? is it a standalone sticker or a set? I believe the documentation of history and its story is just as important as the items themselves! Thankyou Alan!
Hi Ahmed, Thanks for getting in touch. I wish I could help you but all I know about this collection, and it's not very much is contained in the two posts. The earlier one only shows the album cover. It's possible it's not a Panini, it could be someone using their logo to help sell the albums and packets. If you ever get any additional information I would appreciate it if you could let me know. Hi Ahmed, Unfortunately, I don't own this collection. I came across the two image - album and packet - some time ago on the internet. I didn't record where or when. Iam sorry I am not much help. Best regards, Alan
Hello Alan - I am back and proud to tell you that I am now the owner of this sticker! I bought four sealed sticker packets and I thought you might like to know a bit about them. I reached out to some of the players in the packet. I opened and learned a bunch of information.
They're from a football sticker set called "Super Goal", put out in 2000 as a Coca-Cola promotion for kids in the West Bank and Gaza. Packets cost about a shekel, and if you filled the album you could trade it in for a prize for the full kit or Coca Cola and Fanta. The set covered the Palestinian national team and players from the local clubs, along with some international players. The photos were taken at a stadium in Jericho that year.
It didn't run for long — the situation there changed a few months later and league football stopped for several years, so it's not a set you see much of. I bought 4 packs 3 sealed and opened one. I collect Palestinian sports memorabilia so this was a great add!!
