Bryant & May Toy and Craft Division - Bryplay Cup Football (01) - Action Cards

1978
Bryplay Cup Football
Bryant & May Toy and Craft Division
32 cards

This games includes 32 action cards and 32 player cards, all approximately postcard-size. Despite some sellers listing these cards by trying to identify the clubs, they are not named on the cards and there's nothing on them to help identify the teams. I've shown some of the cards here.

  1. Is there anywhere I can buy this game for my 2 boys , I used to love playing this game with my brother when I was a kid!

    1. Hi,

There are some cards on eBay, but I haven't seen a complete boxed set for a long time. Can anyone help?

  2. I used to play the game as a child as well. I can't help with sourcing a copy, I think mine likely went to the bin years ago. It would be fairly easy to make your own. The team cards are just for the 'cup draw'. You could use some commercial football cards and designate them as A, B etc. If you want to be more creative you could design your own and print them out. This could be from photos or historical kit images. If you wanted to do the colouring in bit with your boys there are blank kit templates available online. You could even dress the boys and their friends in plain white shirts and shorts, take some photos and get them to colour themselves in for a more complete Bryplay Cup Football experience. I see Alan has 18 of the 32 action cards here. You can definitely find a few others online. I haven't been able to find all 32 after a quick search though. There's no reason 'your game' has to be exactly the same as the original. It just depends how creative and how much time you'd want to invest in making it. Just some thoughts. Good luck with it.

    1. That's a great idea. Expanding it further by creating an online version and playing with your friends during lockdown.
