CHI-450 Scottish Footballers (SFBL 1)

A set of 24 cards, similar to those issued by  companies like Cardmaster and A&BC. Identified by the legend SFBL 1 printed on the backs of the cards. The two cards shown are Willie Telfer (Glasgow Rangers) and Dunky McKay (Glasgow Celtic). I incorrectly identified them when I posted this checklist originally. Thanks to Brian McEwan for pointing out my mistake.

  1. Willie Telfer appears to be wearing a St Mirren top, although this would most probably have been all white and not blue. Could it have been originally a black and white picture that the company has coloured blue assuming it was a Rangers strip?

    1. That certainly looks like a St. Mirren badge so I presume it was hand-coloured to look like a Rangers jersey. Whoever did it should have painted over the badge too. I just checked the Historical Football Kits website and Willie Telfer's last season was probably 1956-57 as that's the last season they wore kits with collars (until the 1970's), and the jerseys were black and white stripes.
