50 Team Photos

Here's an illustration of part of the front cover of this album and the album for the following season when it's then known as The Daily Graphic Football Album. The teams are listed more or less in alphabetical order. I'm not sure of the order in which they appear in the album.
I'm still looking for more information on the first two Golden Penny Football Albums (1901-02 and 1902-03) as well as The Daily Graphic Football Album for 1905-06. I have listings for all the other Daily Graphic albums between 1904-05 and 1910-11 which I will include here as soon as I've got some good illustrations to go along with them.

  1. Thanks for including these Alan. I'm still intrigued as to the contents of the 1901-02 album, so I look forward to any info.

  2. I have recently found some of my late fathers family playing football . I have a copy of the 1898 Man City team with ; William " Buxton " Smith ( B. Smith ) . Any chance you have got ; Wigan Town ( 1905 -1906 ) , Stockport County ( 1906 - 1909 ) or Derby County ( 1909 ) ...As his brother " Fred Smith " played for all of those ( And Macclesfield / Southampton & Maidstone )

  3. Hi Alan,

A relative of mine - Henry Phillips - was playing for Grimsby during the 03/04 season - would it be possible to check whether he made their team photo that year? I have been researching his career for a while now but haven't been able to turn up a photo yet and feel this is the closest I have come.
Any help you could give me would be massively appreciated.
    Many thanks
    Sam Baldwin

    1. Hi Sam,

Unfortunately I don't have a copy of the album, so I'm unable to check. If you ever do come across the team photo I'd gladly reproduce it here.

      Good luck,

      Alan

    Cheers,
    Tim
