The company was forced to close due to its Jewish owners and some died in the camps and some family members were able to escape.<br /><br />They used to produce cigarettes under several brand names (e.g. Damara, Hohlwein Zigaretten, Freiherr von Kleydorff etc) and were famous at that time. Especially Hohlwein, one of the most famous graphic designer, did have his own brand with them. <br /><br />These sports cards were produced as a „advertising“ I assume, same as those „Sammelalbum“, which were published with several topics and had included photos etc in it.<br /><br />If you are interested, shoot me a message, I do have several items of Menes from that time and happy to discuss Sunriserser at Gmailnoreply@blogger.com
