Navarrete / Mexico Paper Toys Ltd - Mundial Korea Japan 2002

2002
Mundial Korea Japan 2002
Navarrete / Mexico Paper Toys Ltd
Peru, Mexico
532 stickers

Igor Crnojevac has provided a number of checklists in the last few weeks, this time he's asking for information about the Navarrete album for the 2002 World Cup tournament in Korea and Japan.
There are at least two different collections issued for the tournament by Navarette. This 532 set is probably what I would call the main collection, not only because it has more stickers but because the photos are all portraits. The other album has a few less stickers and they show the players in action rather than portraits.
This album comes in at least two versions as it was also issued in Mexico as well as Navarrete homeland of Peru. The Peruvian version has Zindedine Zidane as the main player on the cover, while the Mexican album has Cuauhtémoc Blanco, with Michael Owen replacing Juan Sebastian Veron to the right of the main player.
Curiously the backs of the Mexican stickers are printed upside-down.

John Allen issued these small cards through the Football Card Collector Magazine. I'm not sure where the photos came from, probably some contemporary booklet.

Football Greats ~ Sir Tom Finney
The Beautiful Game Ltd.
4 cards

Football Greats is an amazing collection of cards, every design, front and back is different. At the time of release a special four card set of Sir Tom Finney cards were issued, one of which was unnumbered. They could be found with two different thicknesses of card, the thicker ones being part of a numbered limited edition collection that came in it's own leather album. I am hoping to include an illustrated checklist of the main 45 card set soon.
